Beginning of Jerusalem!

Hello friends and family!! I can't believe it has almost been a week since I have been gone!! Already it has been such an amazing and uplifting week.  Here are some pictures from this week!

Roch, Natty P and Mel Mel.  Life is so much more fun with these two around. :)  Never a dull moment.... Ever. haha

This is what we wake up to every morning.  It is so beautiful.  If I say so myself we have the best view of the city.  Yesterday about 6 of us went on walk around the ENTIRE CITY!!! We were on our way to go to the Dome of the Rock until we were told it was closed.  So the boys decided to take us to a really cool view.... Which ended up being rooftops.  haha But it was a fun adventure for us all!  In total we walked about 6 miles or more around the whole gate.  Needless to say it was a wonderful, sweaty, entertaining sabbath walk.  Rule of thumb... If are ever going on an excursion with boys and they say you are going for a little walk... Dress accordingly. ;) haha

On Friday we went to the Garden Tomb.  As we were all walking in we kept saying to each other we can't believe we are here.  All my life I have been shown pictures and videos of the tomb.  We have read about Christ resurrection and Finally I am here.  There was such a peaceful feeling from the hustle and bustle of the city to inside where the Garden Tomb is.  I am so grateful for this wonderful opportunity I have to walk and learn where Christ did.

I had to add this for my Mom!  For those who know my family my Mom and I LOVE to cook!!! So When I saw these Spice stores  I got really excited!!! Wish we had these in the USA!

                       East Jerusalem. Downtown old city.  The walk ways are all beautiful!! :)

  Church of the Sepluchre.  So gorgeous inside. Apparently they need to redo the roof but there is a fight that goes on because who ever takes care of the building it is like saying it is there's... Therefore nobody has done the roof.  One of our professor's Brother Ludlow said that there was a broom fight between two of the priest's.

Leaving tomorrow bright and early!

I still cannot believe how fast all this time has gone by.  This whole last semester has just seem to fly on by.  Especially the last 2 weeks.  We had orientation today and it finally hit me that I am going to be spending the next 4 months of my life in Jerusalem.  Ahh I am so excited and nervous.  But mostly I feel so blessed to be able to have this wonderful opportunity!  At this point I am packing so I have been super stressed.  Especially because my parents just got back from Paris today. haha Crazy day at the Garry household!  Anywho I hope everyone has a wonderful week!  Next time I will blog I won't be in the country... WHAT?!  so cool.  :)

And the journey begins....

Hi friends and family!  It is amazing to me that we are down to less than 2 WEEKS!  Holy cow how time flies. I feel so blessed to have had so many friends go before me and come back to give me advice. Words cannot describe how excited I am to go to the Holy Land, I know it is going to be a life changing experience.  I am so grateful I get the opportunity to study more in depth the life of my Savior for the next 4 months. Thank you for all my friends and family who have helped me get prepared in these last few months.  I will miss you all but am so excited to take on this new adventure in my life. :) 

                                             As Dr. Seuss says, "Oh the places you'll go."
